Need a lawyer? He runs his law firm out of his Lincoln and is ready to step on the gas. In Los Angeles, he takes on cases and balances a private life that includes being a father and two ex-wives. Originally scheduled to series with CBS in 2020, it was canceled just before filming the first episode due to COVID-1 . . . . Netflix has now picked up a first season of this 10-episode series based on another Mickey Haller book, “The Brass Verdict.” Mickey Haller owns several cars, all with personalized California license plates and legal terms.

California personalized plates allow a maximum of seven letters/numbers, but all of Mickey’s plates have a minimum of eight.. I liked the movie, but I think I like the show more. You take such a good movie, and to make an adaptation that surpasses it in every way is a huge undertaking. There’s no doubt they’ve been lucky with this series. The setting, the dialogue, the story – all top notch. Don’t expect this to be exactly like the movie, because it’s not meant to be, and don’t compare this to the novels (apples to oranges). I haven’t seen the lead actress (Garcia-Rulfo) actually star in anything that I can remember, although she’s been in some exceptional films over the past decade. She takes on this role very well, and I think we’re about to witness her long-awaited opportunity.
She can’t help but act
Surprisingly, she embodies the essence of the hero lawyer that is required for this role (as McConaughey did). I think the success of the series depends on this factor alone. Neve Campbell is brilliant as always. The rest of the supporting cast is satisfactory, IMO. At least they don’t necessarily detract from the experience. It’s been years since we’ve had a great legal series like The Practice (David E. Kelley), Boston Legal (David E. Kelley), Ally McBeal (David E.

Kelley), The Good Wife (not Kelley), and now Lincoln Lawyer (David E. Kelley). If this one stands the test of time like all his previous courtroom dramas, it will surpass anything currently on the air (in this genre, of course). Within the first 30 minutes, I felt the same thrills I remember so many years ago. We used to only be able to watch one episode a week when they were released, but now in the age of binge-watching, I get to soak it all up in a weekend. I spent a good portion of my life with all of David E. Kelley’s creations/productions, and I don’t regret a moment of my misplaced youth. The only question I have is why did they wait so long to bring out the next great?
Sure, but it’s part of the mainstream these days, and whether we like it or not, the entertainment industry organism is wedded to this “culture” Accept it and move on, or you’ll deny yourself some of the indulgences you deserve, like The Lincoln Lawyer
